What is dermascope ?

A dermascope is a medical magnifying device that allows doctors to examine skin lesions and moles at approximately 10 to 30 times magnification without immediately performing a biopsy. It provides a clearer view of the structures and patterns within pigmented lesions that may be difficult to distinguish with the naked eye.

How it works:
A liquid interface, such as oil or gel, may be applied to reduce surface reflection and make the outer layer of the skin appear more transparent. Specialized lighting and polarized filters are then used to examine structures beneath the skin surface.

Why should you choose dermascope ?

Accurate treatment begins with an accurate diagnosis.

Clinical applications:
Dermascope is used to assess moles, nevi, melasma, and various other pigmented skin conditions. It can also help doctors identify suspicious features associated with early skin cancer and determine whether further examination or a biopsy is necessary.

At Dermia Clinic, we use up to three diagnostic tools—including EVE V, a dermascope, and both portable and console ultrasound systems—to evaluate each patient’s skin condition carefully. Based on these findings, we recommend only the treatments that are truly necessary, without over-treating.

How does the consultation process work at Dermia Clinic?

First, a patient consultant will ask which areas and treatments you are interested in. After reviewing your skin with the EVE V system, the consultant will provide a brief introduction to the relevant treatment options and communicate your needs, concerns, and desired results to the doctor.

The doctor will then perform a detailed assessment using EVE V, a dermascope, and portable ultrasound. Based on the findings, the doctor will recommend only the treatments that are appropriate for you and personally carry out the procedures.

When additional evaluation is needed—particularly for treatments such as collagen-stimulating skin boosters, fillers, or lifting procedures—the doctor may also use a console ultrasound system. This allows the doctor to assess the location of blood vessels and nerves, as well as the results of any previous procedures, before explaining the treatment plan and proceeding safely.
